2010 Explorer of the Year

The Hazelwood Police Explorer Post 9217 is proud to announce that Explorer Captain Nick Valenti is our Explorer of the Year for 2010. Explorer Valenti joined Post 9217 in the summer of 2007 where he devoted countless hours in community service and service in assiting the Hazelwood Police Department. Explorer Valenti started joined as en explorer and rose through the ranks and was promoted to Captain January of 2010. He has since led the post to their 1st place Win at the National Conference. Explorer Valenti has since retired from Post 9217 and is now a dispatcher with the Hazelwood Police Department. He is awaiting to enter the Police Academy in the spring of 2012. Thank you Nick for all of your hardwork and dedication!

Welcome

            Thanks for visiting the official website for the Hazelwood Police Explorer Post 9217. Our post was established in the summer of 2003. We originally started with 7 members and two advisors, however, over the years the post has grown to 18 explorers with 10 advisors and has put countless explorers through the police academy to start careers in law enforcement. Several explorers have reitred from the post and have become police officers, others are dispatchers and some are correction officers. We believe that if an explorer is accepted into the post and completes the program giving 100% effort and dedication, they will have a high success rate when entering into the law enforcement career field.  For more information regarding exploring and how to join, see the "Mission Statement" and "Requirements" pages at the top.
